Cut the following pieces with your BLACK+DECKER MATRIX™ 20V MAX* Lithium Drill/Driver with BLACK+DECKER MATRIX™ Trim Saw Attachment:
Create the triangle legs by first cutting two 24" lengths from the pine board. Then, draw a diagonal line from two opposing corners on each piece, and cut along the line with the trim saw attachment.
Measure 6" down from the vertical center of each plywood board and make a mark. Trace a circle 5" in diameter on this center mark on each board, using a pencil compass. Use your drill/driver with MATRIX™ Router Attachment to make a plunging cut along the perimeter of this traced line. Follow along the circumference of the circle to create the hole in each game board.
Stand two of the triangular leg pieces on their long square edges, and line up the top edges flush with a plywood game board. Drill three pilot holes, one near each end and one in the center, with a 1/16" drill bit. Secure the board with ¾" wood screws. Repeat the process to assemble the other legs and board.
TIP: Drilling pilot holes can help prevent the screws from splitting the wood, especially near ends and edges.
Use your BLACK+DECKER MOUSE® Detail Sander to smooth out any rough edges that may have resulted from cutting. Start with 80-grit sandpaper and finish with 120-grit sandpaper. Wipe off all sanding dust. Sketch or stencil a design or trace your team's logo onto each game board in pencil before painting with acrylic. Paint each board with inverse colors to differentiate cornhole teams. Seal with a coat or two of waterproof varnish in case the game gets too intense and needs to be taken outside.
After you’ve finished playing your homemade game, store the boards by stacking them on top of each other (with the triangle legs facing each other) in a dry place.
