Good unit, but overrated for price.

This pole saw is handy, but the wrench/screwdriver will not "snap" into its place on the plastic bar sheath & the oil bottle leaks if not kept upright. B&D graciously replaced the sheath & oil bottle, but the problem is the same if not worse with the replacement parts. The sections of the saw should have some type of alignment marks for connecting them (I marked them with a Sharpie). Experience shows capacity is only about 20-25% of rating-no way can you cut (100 1-1/2" branches on one charge! More like 20-25. Would like to have a 2nd battery so one can charge while I am using the other.

Pros: Long reach. Has plenty of power for small branches.

Cons: A bit unwieldy at full length. Wrench will not remain in place on bar sheath-easily lost. Oil bottle leaks (no seal)-makes a mess. No alignment marks on parts of pole for ease in Connecting. Actual capacity is 20-25% of what is advertised. Unit should come with TWO batteries. For the $150 price tag, this should be a much better engineered unit.

Paid for itself the first hour

I had a problem with carpenter ants using the phone line as a freeway from a couple large trees into out house and was quoted $300 by a pro trimmer to clear branches away from the line. The B&D 20V pole saw's reach and cutting power made short work of it, even 2-3" limbs. Little effort is needed; the blade cuts cleanly with little pressure. The 20V battery provides enough power to cut about as much as I care to clean up from a Saturday trimming session.

Pros: Light weight allows good control with no fatigue. Blade cuts clean and fast and is easy to adjust. Battery charge has lots of cutting power.

Cons: The fixed blade angle; I'd like an adjustable angle like on the the B&D pole trimmer

Great Product

Worked great right out of the box! Did quite a bit of trimming dead branches off several walnut trees with this and was able to get most of the trimming completed without having to change batteries. One dead branch was 4 inches in diameter.

Pros: Realatively light weight and easy to use. I have already recommended it to some friends.

Cons: Wish it had an additional extension.

Great little saw!

I've had this saw for over a year now and have trimmed almost every tree on our property. Branches up to 6" thick have been no problem whatsoever! You MUST let the saw do the work for you. NEVER try to force it through. It has enough weight on the head that it will eat it's own way through the branch or trunk. Take your time and this little thing eats trees very well! Remember to let it cool off every so often so it doesn't overheat. Of course, I have no problem taking a break every 15 minutes or so for myself and this saw has NEVER failed me!

Pros: This saw is VERY lightweight and easy to use if you remember you're not Paul Bunyan! The batteries last a long time for smaller work, but larger branches may take an extra battery. Personally, I have 4 batteries, but I have many different B&D 20v tools.

Cons: I have NO complaints with this saw at all!
