    Breaks very easily
I like the mouse. The problem is it breaks very easily. All I wanted to do was sand a couple of tables and some curved areas (and some level areas) of some windows and the inside plastics keeping the sander level broke. They don't allow to order these parts to change them yourself which would be easy. This is the last B&D product I buy.

Because this was the the second mouse I purchased and the same thing happened, I'm not sure there is anything I can say good about this product.

I would think B&D's QA department would begin earning their paychecks and begin designing products that actually last longer than a couple of months. I realize this product is not a heavy duty sander but it should be able to withstand sanding windows and a couple of tables before breaking. Also, if the same features continue breaking the LEAST B&D could do is offer those parts for sale so the consumer could change the parts. To think people are actually getting paid to design crap like this is unbelievable. Like I said, I have just purchased my last B&D product of any kind. They are the most unreliable product on the market as far as I am concerned. Perhaps if more people quit buying their products, the B&D will fire their QA department and hire people that will earn their paycheck.

    Plastic parts are no good
I purchased the mouse two weeks ago. I was so happy with its design and attachments. I used it 3 times on small projects and the plastic arms inside broke in half. Piece of crap.

Cheap plastic parts are poor design
I had the mouse, catalog number MS800 and was very unimpressed. I used it a grand total of probably 6-8 times and it was never heavy duty projects. Just odds and end home fix it projects. The Mouse went south though. It powered on just fine, but I opened it up and apparently the part that actually rotates the sanding pad it made of plastic and it simply wore down. Incredible, I though, that this vital piece is plastic. I was most disappointed that the return period to Lowe's expired.

    Poor construction. Does not last.

    Poor Product
MS800 mouse handsander, this is the second sander I have received as a present and both of them have broke in the same place. I can not use any other type of sander because my hand does not open all the way. I really like the sander it is light weight and handles very well. But I can not understand why this product has not been redesigned. I see all the complaints about this particular sandar and most of them are about the same thing. You would think with this many complaints spanding back 3 years the QA department would have done something about this. Everyone knows that plastic breaks under extreme heat and vibration, what is Black and Decker thinking or maybe they are not. I suggest the Quality Assurance techs get off thier cans and tell someone about this problem.

It is small works well on the projects I have. Fits good in my hand.

It keeps braking in the same place and no one at your company seems to care and make a change on these plastic parts.

It is not supposed to be a high powered sander, its for detail sanding around the house, a housewife tool so to speak.
I haven't a problem with the mouse sander. It does what it is intended to do, small, finish jobs on small objects. If you need something SANDED you use a belt sander or an orbital sander or the like depending on what you are refinishing. I have refinished things from cars to furniture for fifty years growing up in an auto body family and now refinishing and making furniture for my home, and while it's not my first choice to use while working on things it does what it's intended to do. It's not a Jaguar, its a VW bug. You wouldn't expect a Bug to outrun a Jag and I don't expect a mouse to outsand belt sander.. Having said that, I don't understand how pieces could fall off a sander ( the complaint about the attachment falling off the sander) when they are supposed to be SCREWED into the sander..not just slapped on. Are people even reading directions?

OK for what it is intended to do It's a thirty dollar hand sander, I have a shop with my husband that has all the tools I could possibly want at my disposal so I am fortunate that I don't have to rely on this for all my sanding needs. If I did I probably wouldn't be making furniture for a hobby, I love recycling furniture and reusing pallets and have made some really unique pieces with the help of this little guy. I had done the headboard/footboard bench years ago as well as my version of reusing an oval coffee table squaring off the corners and padding the top making it into a bench for the end of our guest bed. Just a place for people to put their luggage or sit and put on their shoes. I don't have before pics but will post after pics if people are interested.

Sandpaper in different grits is hard to find in my area which is not a small rural area. We have a Walmart and Home Depot and Lowes yet all I can find usually is the purple supersand crap that supposedly lasts longer than other sandpaper, I don't see that it does but whatever.

    Poor Reliability
I loved the product when I began using it. I use the sander occasionally when doing some home maintenance projects. After a little use, the sander began making a horrible noise. I thought the rear screws came loose since the back of the sanding plate was loose. When I found the screws to be tight, I removed the plate and saw that the plastic pins that held the plate in place were broken. This seems to be a common problem, mentioned by others who have reviewed the sander. A good concept gone bad by poor materials selection on the part of the designers.

Gets into tight spaces and does a good job for the short time it works.

    Breaks after minimal use.

Great Job Wish it lasted longer then 2 uses.
It worked really well. Wish the rubber bottom would stay on. Would work better if it was built with a metal base plate. I'm going to buy a replacement before switching to anything else. First time doing furniture. Loved doing it will prolly make a hobby of it. Check it out.

Great job really got into all the nooks and cranny's.

The base plate eventually fell off. Never happened with my other circular sander but I never tried it on anything else besides my car.

    Love it!!!
My mouse sander must be one of the first ones out there, I have had mine since 2005. Still runs great. easy to hold on to and attachments just take a little time learning how to use them. I love mine.

I love the size. It fits great in my hand, Works wonderful on SMALL projects, I do not think it was ment for big projects. Small thing at home it works great.

The shape of the sanding pads can be a pain to get ahold of, and they do cost a mint at time.

    This sander is terrible
The sanding pads fall off as well as the contour attachments. The finger attachment works good and that is all that is good about this sander. I am going to keep the sander for using the finger attachment.

Only sander I found with a finger attachment

Poor grip...the pads fall off as do the contour attachments
