Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. warrants this product for two (2) years against any defects in material or workmanship. The defective product will be replaced or repaired at no charge in either of two ways.

The first, which will result in exchanges only, is to return the product to the retailer from whom it was purchased (provided that the store is a participating retailer). Returns should be made within the time period of the retailer?s policy for exchanges (usually 30 to 90 days after the sale). Proof of purchase may be required. Please check with the retailer for their specific return policy regarding returns that are beyond the time set for exchanges.

The second option is to take or send the product (prepaid) to a Black & Decker owned or authorized Service Center for repair or replacement at our option. Proof of purchase may be required. Black & Decker owned and authorized Service Centers are listed under "Tools-Electric" in the yellow pages of the phone directory.

This warranty does not apply to accessories. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state or province to province. Should you have any questions, contact the manager of your nearest Black & Decker Service Center. This product is not intended for commercial use.

If you have a large lawn then, yes, you are going to use up both batteries before you are done edging and trimming. But, for our small lawn (1/4 - 1/2 acre) this is THE best cordless trimmer/edger! And it came with a cordless blower too, all in the same box for one low price at Lowe’s. Now, when it comes to edging, it will really zap the batteries the FIRST time you edge in the Spring, if you have not been edging all Winter. But after that first heavy-duty edging it will be quick, easy and all in under ten minutes for the whole front yard. And, if you are like us, as long as the backyard is fenced in and you never go back there except to mow the yard anyway, then why even bother weed eating it? I just spray some Roundup around the fence edge and the edge of the house and there is no need to trim. The mower gets all of the rest. But, in the front yard, the one EVERYONE sees, this B&D super lightweight trimmer/edger is FANTASTIC! If anything changes I will come back and let you know!
Pros:

Sooooooo easy to put together out of the box. Sooooooo lightweight that my back doesn't hurt working in the yard anymore like it did with the last monster I had to lug around. Self-feeding line is a Godsend and easy to change, when needed. Even the wife loves using this trimmer (although she needs some practice!) LOL

Cons:

There is nothing negative I can say about this product. Yes, it does take 8 hours or so to charge the battery, but since it does the whole front yard with one battery and I will not be doing it again for a week or so anyway, taking 8 hours to charge is fine with me.

Thanks for making this great product. Love the light weight. Has lots of power. Even smoothly cut tall green grass & thick weeds that were wet at the bottom. Deffinitely would buy again & recommend to others.

I really like this trimmer. It is lightweight and good trimming power when the batteries are fully charged. The battery life is not the best but I don't think it is nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. Changing the batteries is worth not having to deal with a power cord to me. I do want to complain about B&D. In December I bought the B&D 20V Li Drill that came with 2 batteries and a charger. These batteries are the same ones that work for this product. Now on the box for the trimmer B&D even advertises that the batteries work for a number of power tools. Having seen that, myself and most consumers would assume that you would not have to buy 10 tools with 10 chargers and 20 batteries. So I emailed B&D and asked how I could get the bare LST 220 along with the hedge trimmer that took the same batteries as well. I got an e-mail back stating that those particular products are unavailable bare. This to me is false advertising and B&D not looking out for the consumer.

OK, I would really give this trimmer 4.5 stars. It does great on as long as you aren't brush cutting. Helps me keep control of wintercreeper and new bush honeysuckle growth.

Good power,it does take longer to do the yard than a gas trimer,becouse of having to stop charge. But overall I'm happy with it.
Pros:

Light,quieter than a gas one,no mixing of oil and gas, so no extra gas can in the garage.

Cons:

Just wish the charging process didn't take as long. But oh well, the pros outweigh the cons.

I purchased this a year or so ago. Tired or trying to start the gas models. Install the battery and you are on your way to trimming. Great.
Pros:

So easy to replace the spool and easy to use.

Cons:

The battery (s) could last a little longer after a charge. But oh well the pros out weigh the cons!! Good job.

I have no complaints at all with the product. My lawn is 75 feet by 200 feet deep. I have no problems at all with the batteries, they last the entire job. There is a lot more power than I thought it would have. It is super lightweight.

I have been nothing but disappointed with this product. Even after fully charging the batteries, they don't last long, and it takes most of the day to recharge them. Don't waste your money.

We bought the trimmer early this summer, and right off the bat we had problems with the batteries. Neither one lasts more than 15 minutes on a "green" fully charged battery. This short battery life and long charge time just makes it so difficult to get my lawn done in a reasonable amount of time. I have purchased B&D for years, but unless there is some kind of recall/replacement in the very near future, I will no longer be a B&D consumer..

lightweight (when the batteries work)

Cons:

batteries are absolutely horrible. 15-20 minutes on a fully charged battery? PLEASE!!!!! B&D needs to fix this problem right away or B&D will lose lots of customers to this issue!!!
