Free at last!! No more power cords

Great lightweight trimmer. If you have a small to average yard this trimmer will get the job done. Batteries last about 15 minutes each and I can use the battery from my 20V B&D drill too but I didn't need it. The first battery died after I trimmed around the house and the trees and shrubs in the back yard. Changed batteries and did the front edging on the sidewalk and along the street curb and had plenty battery left. I think this is great for the average city home and not a 2-3 acrea farmette with lots of trimming or tall weeds. People who complained about battery life need to get real. If you want a battery that last 2-3 hours you would need to get wheels for it.
    Pros:

No more cords to lug around and the auto line feed works great. I would buy it again. Sometimes I wouldn't trim because I dreaded dragging the cord around. I was much less fatigued after using this than my old B&D 120V and dragging the power cords around. Pick it up and go. Charge the batteries when done and it is ready for the next time.

    Cons:

I dislike nothing. Batteries had enough charge to do my yard right out of the box.

Perfect for a small yard. (Less then 200ft of trimming area)

The Weed eater and Blower combo as a gift, I cant complain about the price. This is replacing my 5 year-old 120V Weedwacker. I charged both batteries out of the box. Charge time was 6hr & 6.5hr. I presume they still had some factory charge still on them. The next day got to work. My back yard is 50ft x 80ft with 3 trees and a sidewalk in it. I started my stopwatch and started cutting. After 10 min the power started to go down but it was still cutting the 4-5in tall grass and making it look nice. After 15 min it started to die then it just stopped. I cut > 300ft in 15 minutes. I mowed the lawn. Grabbed the blower with a fresh battery & cleaned everything in 5 min. I swapped batteries with the trimmer and got a few spots I had missed earlier. For a free gift I’m happy with it. If I had purchased it I would be disappointed and return it for something with 2 cutting lines instead of 1 and a much bigger battery. The 20V 30Wh (1500mAh “if I did my math right”) battery should be > 2000mAh.
    Pros:

I like the lightweight & the balance of both of the units. Its much easier on the back and arms then my 4ft handle on the 120V trimmer and not having to drag the extension cord around is great! Being that I only do my yard once a week it doesn’t bother my that it takes so long to charge the batteries.

    Cons:

When the battery starts to loose power the cutting line does not come out as easily. I had to pull some line out by hand. The blower had a hard time blowing the grass that was smashed into the sidewalk after cutting it with the mower then walking on it.

    Great Lightweight Trimmer

I purchased about 2months ago the package with trimmer & blower for $119.95. Both work great and are durable. Have had no experience with the auto line trim, in fact I am content to remove the guard and adjust line length as necessary. I have a small place with flowerbed, driveway and sidewalk to the house. When I purchased the unit with two batteries provided, I was able to trim flowerbed, driveway, sidewalk, completely around the house, and almost finished blowing off the driveway. The battery life was as good to better than expected as batteries go. Performance has been just as good. No problems with defects or workmanship. I would rate this lightweight trimmer up there with any other made. I would however like to make a suggestion concerning attachments. It would be nice if Black and Decker made an attachment that allowed a power cord as an accessory. I only mention this as an accessory to offset battery life for those who may opt. A great yard weapo
    Pros:

Battery life OK for most median sized home jobs. Performance, durability and ease of use great as well.

    Cons:

Don't really have a con. I love the thing! A longer battery life, maybe, along with the cord accessory and oh yea, for those really hot days, a cup holder!!!

Not for clearing the North Forty

But if you need a solid trimmer for average lawn work, this is definitely it. It ain't for bush hogging the periphery of your 4-acre lawn. The battery clearly has a finite life, like all battery-powered tools. Not having to 1) listen to and smell a gasoline engine (not to mention keeping gas around) and 2) drag a long extension cord behind you makes this tool worth its weight in gold. I bought an extra battery just in case it craps out before I finish. The nice thing about this tool is that when the battery poops out, it just stops: there is no slow deterioration of cutting capability. The batteries charge quickly. They also are easily removed and replaced, with a positive lock.
    Pros:

No cord, no gas fumes. It is light enough to not fatigue your arm. I also like the quick conversion to a lawn edger. I threw out my old rusty lawn edger.

    Cons:

The "blade" that cuts the string when it plays out is made of plastic. While it does cut the line, it may rattle a bit before it finally cuts it off.

    Does it's job well

I just purchased this trimmer today from Lowes as a package with the yard blower at no extra cost. Can't beat that! I was tired of fighting with a gas powered trimmer and line. I can't complain about the battery life because that's the nature of lithium batteries. They don't last very long when powering something that pulls as many amps as this does. It's a light-weight unit designed for light use, not hacking at overgrowth. It trims and edges just fine, as it was designed. I would have liked something more substantial but once the trimming is done, there's no need for a heavy-duty trimmer. I took these two products out of the box and without charging the batteries I was able to blow out the entire garage floor and trim my entire front yard, which consists of 2 round flower beds at the base of 2 trees and 70 feet of landscaping, along with my entire deck in back before the batteries died. I'm satisfied. Now maybe the wife will trim once in a while.
    Pros:

Light, adjustable handle, rugged, Automatic line feed (NO BANGING THE HEAD ON THE GROUND!!!!!), quiet, dual trimmer AND edger, came with free yard (garage, shed, dog) blower, easy to use and adjust.

    Cons:

Line is a little too light-weight, battery life, no cup holder.

    Battery time is a problem

The trimmer works fine, but it takes several days to trim my yard. I don't want to be tied to yard work 5 out of 7 days. I'll go back to pulling a cord around behind me.
    Pros:

    light weight and cordless

    Cons:

The battery charge only last 10 or 15 minutes! That's not even enough time to do one side of my fence row. Even with two batteries I can't finish my back yard in one day. Then it has to charge overnight to start again. I wish I would have read the reviews before spending any money on this trimmer. The battery is garbage! I would not recommend this product to anyone. I would rate it a negative star if I could.

    I am very satisfied.

Just read several reviews complaining about the battery life. I agree they last about 15 minutes each at full or almost full power. That's 30 minutes of trimming and actually I get a LOT of trimming done in that time. When you consider how light they are I would say that is quite amazing. I carry the second battery in my front pocket as it isn't much thicker than a wallet and then change it when the first one is depleted. After owning a corded string trimmer and a gas trimmer this battery trimmer is a real joy to use. I have had no problems at all with the string feed. We own several acres of rural rugged yard, that is, it used to be a farmers field. Part of what I trim is where a farmer uses a tractor to plow a field and flips dirt clods over against the yard making it nearly impossible to use a riding mower on. Also along a fence line between soybean field and fence that is hundreds of feet of pretty tall weeds. This trimmer is so easy to use I actually look forward to using it.
    Pros:

Light weight, No cords therefore I am not limited to the distance from an outlet, No gas oil mixtures my cloths don't smell like exhaust when I'm done. Quiet compared to a gas trimmer. My legs aren't covered with purified grass when I'm done and I often were shorts and crocs while trimming - probably a no-no. Batteries have a lot of power for there size. I like the light indicator on the charger that shows what state it is at during charging and that it won't overcharge the battery. For the money I am totally satisfied.

    Cons:

Would I like the batteries to last longer? sure but I had read the reviews and I knew how long they would last from previous reviews. The batteries are not quick charge and take over 8 hours each to charge. I do think I have seen a 30 minute quick charger for this battery at Walmart but it was $39.00. It would be nice if it had an ice tea dispenser on it.

GREAT Improvement Over the SUPER Heavy Beast We Used Before This One!

If you have a large lawn then, yes, you are going to use up both batteries before you are done edging and trimming. But, for our small lawn (1/4 - 1/2 acre) this is THE best cordless trimmer/edger! And it came with a cordless blower too, all in the same box for one low price at Lowe’s. Now, when it comes to edging, it will really zap the batteries the FIRST time you edge in the Spring, if you have not been edging all Winter. But after that first heavy-duty edging it will be quick, easy and all in under ten minutes for the whole front yard. And, if you are like us, as long as the backyard is fenced in and you never go back there except to mow the yard anyway, then why even bother weed eating it? I just spray some Roundup around the fence edge and the edge of the house and there is no need to trim. The mower gets all of the rest. But, in the front yard, the one EVERYONE sees, this B&D super lightweight trimmer/edger is FANTASTIC! If anything changes I will come back and let you know!
    Pros:

Sooooooo easy to put together out of the box. Sooooooo lightweight that my back doesn't hurt working in the yard anymore like it did with the last monster I had to lug around. Self-feeding line is a Godsend and easy to change, when needed. Even the wife loves using this trimmer (although she needs some practice!) LOL

    Cons:

There is nothing negative I can say about this product. Yes, it does take 8 hours or so to charge the battery, but since it does the whole front yard with one battery and I will not be doing it again for a week or so anyway, taking 8 hours to charge is fine with me.

Thanks for making this great product. Love the light weight. Has lots of power. Even smoothly cut tall green grass & thick weeds that were wet at the bottom. Deffinitely would buy again & recommend to others.
    Pros:

Easy to handle and use. Lightweight and powerful.

    Cons:

So far no problems at all.

OK, I would really give this trimmer 4.5 stars. It does great on as long as you aren't brush cutting. Helps me keep control of wintercreeper and new bush honeysuckle growth.
    Pros:

    Lightweight

    Cons:

    Battery Life Charge Time
