The Best Tool Nobody Knows About!
I found this on-line while shopping for something else and couldn't find it at any store. I originally bought two, for my brother and myself, to cut-up skids for fire wood and was quite pleased. Then, I found my first hidden nail. The chain comes off in two minutes and the spring-loaded tensioner makes putting it back on a snap. Back to work after sharpening in just a few minutes. I waited to write a review because sometimes, after writing a nice review, things go bad and after two years, not so with this great tool. I own a pretty big chain saw too but still, I use the Lopper a lot and have cut down some pretty big trees. It's also great for cutting the brush out after cutting down a big tree with Mister Big chain saw. I'll bet if it was advertized, B&D could sell a bunch. This is a serious, easy to use, quality tool.

    Safe, Powerful, Convenient.

It's pretty heavy and after a few hours of continuous use, I'm pretty tired. The little oil bottle failed during its first use. I put chain oil in my pump oiler and after three pumps, I'm off and running. Neither issue is a deal breaker.

    Blizzard of October 4, 2013
Walking by this neat looking Alligator, I told my husband that's what I want for Christmas 2005. I used it once or twice since then but with the blizzard in the Black Hills of South Dakota is when it has paid for itself 20 times over. We cut 4 large lilac bushes, 200 feet of 10 foot high hedges and trim a few trees. Even at 70 years old it is easy to handle. I'm ordering for Christmas Presents for our family in MN and ND and may they never have the damage we had.

The way it gets the job done and with no muscle power.

It kept come unplugged but I didn't always wrap the extension cord right

Fantastic. A tool you didn't realize you totally needed!
This is a case of seeing a tool that defies categorization and completely fills a niche you need. Forget pruning saws and aggravation. This mini chainsaw rips through any branches cleanly like butter. Great safety features good for regular folks like us who would never want to be near a power saw. We chopped up dead branches around yard that were an eyesore into tossable chunks, as well as trimmed wild overgrowth at perimeter of yard. Have extension cord will travel! Claws are just a safety guide, they are not real claws per se. They help for navigating safely around the branches you are cutting. Was able to even wrought down a grounded limb larger than the advertised 4" given the flexibility of the alligator jaws. No chain is ever exposed unless you open the claw (cutting side exposes, other side remains covered unless you push blade through branch) & must press both hand buttons to operate. Very safe to use, though always keep a mind on where your cord is. Lightweight. Easy to use.

Easy to use, Easy to adjust chain. Cuts effortlessly, fun to use. Gets the job done. Powerful, not noisy. Great safety features enable confident use.

Cord is short, which is OK since you need an extension but a bit more slack would be ok too. Endcap made for a tight fit on our 3 pronged cord, though I suppose that's a feature to keep the cord taught and dry. Center of gravity good, though for those in less shape a good workout.

God, I can't begin to tell you how much I love this saw. It makes really quick work out of cutting limbs and smaller branches. I hope they continue to make and support this product in the future, it's great.

I think the best part about it is the safety factor, having the blades enclosed as they makes it less likely that a klutz like me will harm themselves.

I do wish they would make the oil well a little bigger, it requires pretty frequent refills. The little squeeze bottle that came with the saw is OK, but I actually found that a 5 cc syringe without the needle is perfect, because the tip exactly fits the hole and the 5 cc's of oil seems to be the exact right amount to refill.

    Fantastic Tool for my Arsenal
I've had the corded Alligator now for a second season. It has always worked in an excellent manner, as it should. It's so much easier to use than any traditional chainsaw, within its inherent limitations. You can't cut an 8" trunk, but that's why you have the big tools. his is great for smaller branches that would be difficult for any hand tool.

It makes my work go so much faster. I've used it around my yard and my mother-in-law's home. It will also get used at my sister's house. One thing I really like is the fact that though I bought an extra chain for the unit, I have not have to replace the original chain yet. I guess the guards prevent you from doing anything too stupid...

The area under the chain nuts cover can get clogged with fine greenery, such as arborvitae fronds. It's simple to clear with the included wrench.

    This Alligator really Rocks!
I first saw this on "Cool Tools" and went out to get one. I'm always a bit shy about chainsaws, especially due to the bounce back, so this is perfect for me! It makes kindling out of any bush or branch that I point it it. I have even taken down a few smaller trees with it. It has great safety features (no uncovered blades, need both hands on the handles or it stops running) so this klutz of a girl can keep her digits intact. I have even given two as gifts, and both of my friends love it as much as I do. It makes the twice yearly branch pick-up something to look forward to! Every homeowner with a bush or tree should have one of these.

It works, how great is that! It cuts branches like butter! It makes pruning easy and almost fun. Well constructed, and easy to take care of! The chain stays on, unlike two of my previous chainsaws.

It is now difficult to find at any retailer. I purchased all three (two as gifts) at Lowes, but they don't seem to carry them anymore (or I would have purchased another for a gift). I think the marketing unit didn't put enough effort into this, and they aren't out at retailers. It might not be a "manly" chainsaw, so maybe market this one toward the single woman homeowner. Heck, with the ease of use, the alligator could save a few marriages (sure Honey go watch the game, I'm going to clear some of those branches).

    A must-have tool for the gardener's arsenal!
I used my new AC-powered Alligator Lopper for the first time to trim several bushes. It's well made and easy to use. I highly recommend it.

The Alligator made quick work of my job, using much less effort than when using hand tools.

The Alligator IS a heavy tool, certainly heavier than standard lopping shears. But, you use less effort for a shorter amount of time. I just did cleanup as I went along to give my wrists and arms a rest between bushes.

    Best tool in my arsenal!!!
Light, easy to use and maintain. Have owned one since they first came out and I have finally worn it out. I have 3.3 acres with a lot of trees and shrubs, I grab my Gator before I grab my pole saw or my regular chain saw. Being a middle aged female the weight and ease of use is very important to me.

Very low maintenance and no operating problems like loose chain or such. Doesn't break every other day and lasts for years.

The bite could be a little wider but I can live with it. Went to buy another one and "Home Depot doesn't carry them anymore because the demand was too low." Their loss!!

    Best Chrstmas Present Ever
I bought this several years ago for a Christmas present for my husband. At first he didn't like it. (hadn't even used it yet) But after a tornado took down a 100 year old Oak tree as well as other trees in our yard, he got it out instead of the chain saw, and in less then a day he had the entire yard cleaned up, and went around the neighborhood helping others clean up the mess. Now he likes showing it and when others bet that it isn't faster then their chainsaws he has fun proving them wrong.

We like everything, I even get it out and use it, it is fun.

There is nothing not to like about this product. We do not load it out, since some people forget to return things.

Protecting the chain, the jaws to hold the log.

Bigger mouth for larger pieces. But this in does not stop you from buying....
