I upgraded to this electric hedge trimmer from a B&D 18" electric trimmer. It has more power, better reach, and smoother operation.

This 24" trimmer has worked as promised with the one exception that I do not attempt to cut 3/4" branches with is as it is not capable of that task. It does cut 1/2" branches well.
    Pros:

The trimmer smoothly and quickly trims my very large (4'-5' wide), very long (~200') and tall (~8') evergreen hedges.

    Cons:

As expected, this trimmer is heavier than my previous trimmer but it's improved performance and cutting speed more than compensate for that.

i have the impression that its underpowered, a few more amps would give it a more robust feel. I am having trouble with the locking power switch releasing. There does not seem to be a way to hold the rear handle grip without touching the release trigger, so you are constantly relocking the power on switch. Gets to be annoying.
    Pros:

    gets the job done

    Cons:

    trigger lock

Exhausts Directly into Eyes and Fills Them with Pollen!

This is the second corded B&D hedge trimmer I have owned. The first one was a 22 or 24 hedgehog and it lasted me a few years. When it broke (internal gears)I bought this model because it seemed to replace the older model. I have hated this since day one of buying it. I probably should have returned it then, but did not because I needed a trimmer NOW. The exhaust from the motor blows directly into your eyes. I am right handed and can not find a way to hold it naturally without it blowing the pollen from the hedge I am cutting right into my eyes. I have had the trimmer about a year and always told my wife I was going to complain. It just took this long. Beings that the item is a year old, I am considering replacing it. I will NOT be trying this brand though. The first model was great and I did not have any problems with it. I am cutting eleagnus hedge and it has alot of pollen! I do not need it blowing into my eyes!
    Pros:

strong enough motor. Blades cut well. Cuts larger sized branches

    Cons:

    BLOWS POLEEN DIRECTLY INTO EYES!!!

    Just grand

Bought my 1st B & D 18" cord trimmer in NY in the mid 90's. Still works fine. The 24" is a marvel. I'm 81 years, 5-1/2 feet and very overweight. This thing handles like a toy. I'm the 2nd owner of this house in SC.. The prior owner had a nursery and this place is loaded with shrubs. The 24" just zooms through them with no effort and I can cut level and vertical in big swaths.
    Pros:

Ease of handling. Its almost effortless. Haven't gotten really used to the rotating handle part but I will. If it lasts as long as my other one I can will it to one of my kids.

    Cons:

    nothing.

    Good trimmer

The trimmer works fine; have had to tighen the screws on the forward handle.
    Pros:

Good reach with the 24" blade, powerful enough, like the rotating rear handle.

    Cons:

The single screws and molded flanges on either side of the casing holding the forward handle are inadequate for keeping it securely in place. The screws have come loose a couple of times and I've had to tighten them.
