    Satisfied customer, cautiously recommended
I have had my mower for over 4 years and have had 2 minor issues with it. First, as I believe someone stated earlier, my charging cable was dysfunctional and had to be replaced. Next there was another issue but my partner took care of it without needing my help. However, the main reason I give this the highest rating is because these were minor issues in an otherwise great product. Furthermore, my local Black & Decker service center took care of both issues promptly and at no cost (hopefully all service centers are as accommodating as mine). I typically expect to be nickel and dimed-especially once the warranty had lapsed-but was pleasantly surprised. It's fairly quiet (although does sound a bit like bees) and dependable. Mine was a housewarming gift from another satisfied owner, my father, and I would surely buy one for my own children one day.

    Dependable and quiet.

Sounds like bees, battery life could be better.

I thought electric would be good for noise and for the enviroment... over gas and oil
The mower works good but, hooking up charge cord into key slot is terrible.. Also if you take out the battery to charge it is hard to get back into the connector slot... Bag shut is too small and causes clogs of grass... All around is a pain to charge...

    Elect. is nice

Bag shut is too small... Connecting charging cord to either the key slot or taking the battery out and putting it back in after charging matching the connector is terrible...

    Does The Job
I have had this mower for 2 years now. I am not able to mow my lawn(.5 acre) with 2 charges when the grass is thick and it is bad to completely discharge a lead acid battery(duty cycle). So I bought a second battery to mow the entire lawn in session(use one while the other charges to finish). I would not get anything less than 36V after using this mower, it has just enough power to cut ~2.5" tall grass. I was skeptical of the plastic mowing deck at first and mowing in wet grass with a electric motor(I am not easy on my mowers) but everything has held up amazingly well thus far. I rate 5 stars because I like this mower and hope this technology progresses forward.

No gas or carburetor problems to contend with. Mulching with no engine exhaust seems to be better for allergies. Quieter than gas mowers. Push button start. Does not rust.

Mowing deck size. Lead Acid Batteries. I wish a lithium battery was developed. If not, I will make my own if the mowing deck still functions when the batteries go bad.

This is a great product but had issues with shipping damage 4 times.
We ordered this product on line 4 times and each product we received was damaged when opening the box. We had to return all four products back to Home Depot. Read all kinds of reviews on this product and like the features of the mower just wish we could get one that wasn't cracked or broken when we open the box. We called Black and Decker on the issues we experienced and their response was "oh wow that's odd" and nothing else. Needless to say we are going to buy a different electric mower.

We liked everything about this mower which is why we ordered it 4 times just wished we would have gotten one that was not damaged.

Need to work on packaging of this product to prevent damage.

    Don't buy it!!!
After only a few months, the battery quickly goes bad and won't hold a charge, making it useless. The chute clogs, then you have to stop and empty it after 1 or 2 passes, then it won't restart because battery needs charging again. Takes hours to finish a VERY small lawn. The battery seems to be the big problem, and takes 45+ minutes to recharge for your next 1-2 passes. They should refund the money to all of us who bought this mower!

Self propelled, light weight, easy to clean.

The battery sucks! Doesn't get near the edge, chute clogs, have to stop and empty often.

    good design, bad product
mows fine with the exception that leaves a trail of cut grass on the right side whether mulching or bagging. Big disappointment considering the price of $400.00!

    Battery powered/low noise.

Leaves trail of cut grass on right side, mulching or bagging!

Great Mower. Couldn't be easier to use.
I have a small yard less than a 1/4 of an acre, and this is the perfect mower for it. I can actually usually get to complete mows out of a single charge. I've had the mower for 2+ years and have no performance issues.

No maintenance, easy to adjust height of mower. Even though this is human propelled, it is a light mower and easy to maneuver.

The bag is not the easiest to slide in and out.

Real and incompetent home-owner loves this mower! :D
I'm an ill-equipped home-owner in (what I consider) a rural area. It's quiet--and, sometimes, horses walk down my street. I'm swell with computers, but, as I said first, ill-equipped (both know-how and tools) to manage homecare. I also hate bugs. And my gas mower was awful. With this in mind, it has been very hard for me to maintain my lawn. It was hard for me to find time to make it out--and when I finally did, my Florida lawn was usually pretty thick. Gas mower would constantly struggle and putt and sputter. I was always afraid of dying--but was more afraid of being judged by my neighbors for my awful lawn. So, enter electric mower. I will keep this short, as I'm running out of room. Biggest concern was power, especially with my "REAL LAWN." Besides two points where it choked a little (one really thick clump of grass, and one ant hill), I had no issue. For proof, feel friend to poke me on Facebook. Robert Thomas. Facebook nickname is Scipore.

Quiet, light, no vibration, no smells, strong enough for my "REAL LAWN"

Bees. The spinning blade sounds like bees.

If there is any doubt as to whether or not I am being paid to submit this, you can find me on Facebook. My name's Robert Thomas, and my Facebook.. nickname?... thing is Scipore. Would be happy to show pictures. Thirty-something on my first home. I'm swell when it comes to computers, but I'm awful when it comes to home maintenance. Had a pre-owned gas-powered mower that, because of my "OH GOD BUGS!!!" mentality, along with rains/humidity of Florida, my lawn went to hell. Friend suggested an electric mower. Ease of maintenance, easy to use, only, like, two parts to replace. Perfect for a baddie like me. Only concern was whether or not it had enough power to cut my lawn. For context, grass was tall, thick, and wet 'cause, again, Florida. I think I own 1/3rd of an acre. Besides two spots where it jerked a little (one really thick clump, and one secret ant hill), the little guy worked like a charm. W

Quiet, no vibration, strong enough for my awful lawn, light-weight. And I don't really care about the recharge, 'cause I'd hate to spend more than an hour mowing the lawn anyway.

It sounds like a bee. I hate bees.

    Great mower
Great mower. One problem out of the box in that the bail bar was not set in the switch holder and mower would not work. Took the bar out and bent it to fit and works well. Small yard and the mower did a great job on tall grass.

Quiet! I have had fans that were louder.

Build quality, QA or packaging let the mower ship not working. Had to monkey the bail bar to get it to work.
