Cutting Options
The 24 Volt Cordless Mower is versatile, offering three options for handling grass cuttings. You can mulch, use the rear bag, or side discharge (chute sold separately).
- Mulching: Mulching is the cutting and the re-cutting of the grass, forcing the small cuttings back into the lawn to naturally decompose. (When mulching only cut 1/3 of growth not to exceed 1 1/2”- 2”.)
- Bagging: With the rear bag, airflow is created from the blade which moves the clippings into the catcher.
- Discharging chute: Without the mulch plate, airflow is created from the blade which moves the clippings through the chute to the lawn.

Tips for Successful Mulching
Mulching grass cuttings is a great way to care
for your lawn, soil and to care for the environment.
As the grass is cut into fine pieces and
“mulched” back into the lawn, nutrients are
returned to the soil — minimizing the need for excess fertilizer applications. And because you’re not bagging, it reduces landfill volume.
Here are some tips for successful mulching:
- Avoid cutting a wet lawn. Wet grass can interfere with mulching action. Mow in the early afternoon to ensure that the grass is as dry as possible and to avoid exposing freshly cut grass to direct sunlight.
- If your lawn is overgrown, raise your mower’s height setting. If the grass is extremely heavy, reduce the width of cut to avoid overloading the mower. Adjust your mower’s height setting to avoid cutting more than one-third of the total grass height. (should not exceed 1 1/2”-2”).
- Certain types of grass may require that the area be mulched a second time to hide clippings. When doing a second cut, mow across the first cut pass.
- Change your cutting pattern each week. This will help to prevent matting and forming ruts.
